Improving your contact!

  1. Ball Divot Contact - Leads to compression and better launch conditions. Benefit of spin = stopping ball on green properly and more height on the shot.

  2. Center of face contact = distance and better control.

  3. How? Not just striking down but striking down and ahead of the ball, on a diagonal line. Going forward and ahead of the ball. Left arm is straight, Right arm is straightening after the ball. Feel as though you are pushing the club down and forward (diagonal) Body rotation = turn to the right and turn to the left. Watch where your club is hitting the ground. Rehearse it two to three times before each shot

  4. Ball position is important and changes depending on club selection. Be sure to create forward shaft lean in order to accomplish ball divot contact.

  5. Drills -  Two tee drill, tight lie punch drill, divot board, Simulate impact (range box)

  6. Pressure in your feet. Where is your pressure at Impact. See two great photos!
